Before you read this blog, first look at this video.
Last Friday, very early in the morning, this rocket scientist pedaled his e-bike up to a speed camera at 86th Street and 158th Avenue in Howard Beach Queens, looked around, whipped out his pistol, and fired about ten bullets at a red light camera.
NYC must really build the hell out of those cameras. The cops say at least eight bullets hit it, but it took a lickin’ and kept on tickin’.
How bizarre, how far from the norm, how crazy is it that we will look at this video and kinda take it in stride. Hey, shit happens in NYC. Take out your pistol and blast away? Yeah why not. Everyone’s doing it.
But let’s think about this for a second.
This is not normal. Guns are everywhere. When former Mayor DeJerkio disbanded the NYPD undercover anti-crime unit it just made the dire situation worse. Mayor Adams has vowed to reinstate the unit.
Last year, the NYPD recorded 1,562 incidents of gun violence, double what it was in 2019.
I don’t know about you, but I assume everyone is packing heat (except me, of course) and it’s only a matter of time when I’m struck by a stray or an intended bullet.
Am I being paranoid? Nope. I’m just being a New Yorker.
Mayor Adams…clean up this city!!!
